Střední odborná škola podnikání a obchodu (The Secondary School of Business and Trade in Prostějov) is a limited liability company. The school was created based on market requirements because at that time there was a large market gap. Only a few schools in the European Union educated trade, service and tourism workers.

Since then, the content of the training program has been adapted to the needs of the labour market. This means that we offer other expertise such as marketing communications and journalism, international business or sports management. Despite the short history and intensive work of all teachers, our school has become an integral part of education in the Czech Republic.

The school provides vocational education completed with a school-leaving exam (maturita). The instruction is focused on the economy. Our students are in the age between 15 and 19 and they receive vocational education at our school, which ends with a school-leaving exam. The school is attended by approximately 210 students and there are 20 teachers. Students with disabilities, both physical and mental, are carefully monitored and integrated into the classes. Attention is also paid to very talented students.

We want to implement this project to bring students closer to the economy and business in other countries so that they can exchange experiences. The project will be a great opportunity to make new contacts and strengthen friendships. Prerequisites for future business in Europe and the development of international trade will also be created. Last but not least, our students and teachers will improve their language skills and professional competence. An integral part of the project will be learning about other cultures and the business in those cultures.

Pupils participating in the project will work on presentations, lectures and teaching activities. It will prepare workshops for students of other classes and for the public. The outputs will be publicized in local and regional periodicals.

Students will be responsible for their work and the work of the whole group, they will gain invaluable experience for their future professional lives, for teamwork and for building their own healthy opinions and the ability to listen to others and solve common problems.

Our school can contribute with its expertise to the realization of the project. We have experience with promotion, organization of workshops, questionnaires, and surveys. We have contacts with companies we can visit or organize practical training. There are experts from the school (advertising agency, Eurocentre, Government Office, sports clubs) who can prepare activities for project participants.
